WHO WE ARE
Greater Denver CARES Focuses on co-creating a world where Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) youth are empowered to take ownership of their mental health and wellness reflects a shared commitment to creating equitable opportunities for all to lead healthy, productive lives.
By honoring children's innate intelligence, resilience, and potentiality, Greater Denver CARES contributes to transforming consciousness and, by extension, environments, and communities.
WHAT WE DO
Greater Denver CARES is deeply committed to enhancing the mental health and literacy of BIPOC youth in Denver through our flagship initiatives: The Rising Program and The Baldwin Literacy Project.
The Rising Program
Focuses on establishing Afro-centric wellness circles in schools, facilitated by a CARES-trained facilitator and a licensed therapist of color.
The Baldwin Literacy Project
Targets the literacy achievement gap, incorporating mental wellness themes into bibliotherapy, creative writing, and affirmation workshops.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We empower students by connecting them with inspiring leaders through our Super Mentor Program, offering real-world insights and sparking their ambitions.
OUR IMPACT
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Our society’s long-standing inequities in health care, education and economic well-being disproportionately impact Black families. Each of us needs to decide how we can best engage in actions to create a healthier, more equitable and more inclusive community.
For some, making a donation is a way to make a difference. We are grateful to all our supporters.
